About Wesley Cottage Bees
From Inside the Bee Hive
Bees have been kept at Wesley Cottage for over 40 years.
They live in our traditional
orchard, which was first established in about 1770. Gathering nectar from apple trees,
plums, pears and cherries, as well as the surrounding fields, trees and hedgerows, therefore the bees
have a rich and varied diet.
The honey they produce is rich and full of flavour. It is truly the sweetness of Somerset!
We produce not only run, set and comb honey but a range of bee related products such as
beeswax food wraps, beeswax polish, and handcrafted beeswax candles. We also produce
bespoke wedding favours.
Lynne is a Master beekeeper, and runs beekeeping courses and experience days. An engaging and popular speaker, Lynne offers talks and presentations to beekeeping and non-beekeeping groups.
Stay at our Shepherds Hut
This beautiful, bee-spoke shepherds hut is handmade, and adorned with carved bees and honeycomb, it is a true retreat from the busyness of life. Situated in an ancient Somerset cider orchard, you will be able to truly relax and let the world go by. Gorgeously compact, you will find a comfortable double bed with linen sheets, a table that overlooks beehives and the orchard, a cooker and of course a wood burning stove in case the evenings turn chilly. Our companion hut boasts a shower, honey coloured sink, and compost loo.
To complement your stay in The Bee Hive, you could take a course on beekeeping or candle making, depending on what time of year you visit.
Please email us to enquire about availability, and we will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible, with availability and prices.
